Plus came in all different install media. I think it was science on 95Plus! It is from 95PLUS! And it does work on Windows XP.īut you can't install it. Do this and you can get it on Windows NT.Īrchived from groups: () It came with one of the plus packs, 95 or 98. Rather than force you to open new dialog boxes to view all of the components you wish to install, the Plus! 98 Setup program. 98 uses a new type of Setup program that Microsoft should adopt for all of its programs, especially the development tools, where multiple installation options are available. Is there a 'compatibility' mode or something? That's not the point! The point is to make THEM work in Windows 7, if possible. PS: Please don't tell me there are similar screensavers for Windows 7.

Is there a workaround? What about a converter that can Open the SCR files and Save As newer version SCR files compatible with Windows 7? These screensavers are very nice and I would appreciate if I could use them in Windows 7 (and later Windows 8). Probably the graphics mode used by the screensaver or the way the screen is drawn in incompatible with the DirectX 11 on Windows 7. I suspect this is due to compatibility issues in DirectX. But the hicolor (travel, underwater etc) only show a black screen, they do not work! I even tried in 16-bit color mode and with Aero disabled.
The simple ones (flying windows, mystify, scrolling marquee etc) work without any problem. I have some old screensavers from Windows 98 Plus.
